o 1st
quadrimester (Starting 22th
of September 2025): Monday at 14H in R75, at B28 Montefiore. Attention, the
first course is on 22 September and not 15 September.
o 2nd
quadrimester (Starting 9th of February 2026): Monday
at 9H, Montefiore R21.
MAN = Management; ELE = Electronics; EMB = Embedded Systems; LCS = Linear Control Systems;
o Build
an embedded system that includes a feedback
controlled function and an electronic circuit
(including for example a power converter and/or signal conditioning stage
and/or motor control function, …)
o The
digital control sampling frequency should be equal to the switching
frequency. Special care should be taken for the choice of the control
processor.
o The
software architecture should involve concurrent tasks and real-time constraints.
Embedded software has to be written in assembly language.
o Intermediate
progress reports are mandatory.
o Focus
should be placed on the correct modeling of the system. In case of
mismatch between theoretical and practical results, further investigations
and questioning are mandatory.
o The
goal of the deadlines is to help students. They can be exceptionally
postponed if students request a new date not later than four weeks before the
initial deadline.
o Tabular
and graphical data presentations are highly recommended for the comparison
of theoretical, simulations and experimental results.
o Report
length has to be respected. The reports file name format is
“deadline_<deadline number>_<project title>.pdf”. The
first page of the report must include the deadline title, the project title and
all team member names.
o A
mid-project presentation is foreseen mid-December. The bloc diagram
and schematics of the complete project have to be presented. The micro-controller
has to be programmed. A simulation (using LT Spice for example) has to
be presented electronic part of the circuit.
o Budget:
100 EUR.
o Be rigorous and ingenious!
